Shoko Chiba

Born in Tokyo, Shoko Chiba spent part of her childhood in Perth, Australia, where she developed an international mindset from an early age.

After graduation from Aoyama Gakuin University, she began her career in finance. She later studied in the United Kingdom and earned her MBA in Finance from the University of Exeter.

Shoko spent 28 years working at leading global financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and PwC. As Head of Financial Crime Compliance in Japan, she was responsible for risk management related to money laundering and other financial crimes, delivering training and lectures to more than 20,000 professionals.

Through these roles, she gained broad experience ranging from business operations to financial compliance. After hitting a wall emotionally after years of high-pressure work, she began exploring the deeper relationship between money and love, and the true meaning of wealth. This healing journey led her to transition into life coaching.

After leaving Goldman Sachs in December 2019, she became independent and now works as a life coach for executives. Today, she combines her financial expertise with mental and emotional support that helps clients create an empowered lifestyle of their very own, full of both money and love.

With a strong desire to make a difference in the world, Shoko channeled the lessons her extensive experience in the financial industry gave her into her very first book, entitled “Seven Habits to Protect Your Money: It Can Never Truly Be Taken from You!”

That clarity on her life story culminated in a vision of being an interviewer and spreading love and light in the world through inspiring conversations with influential people in Japan and beyond. Shoko has hosted a popular morning interview program called Morning Manifestation since 2021, and now shares her interviews with the world via her YouTube channel.

“7 Habits to Protect Your Money” — Why It Turned Out to Be a Book About Life

The July issue of Nikkei WOMAN went on sale on June 5th!

In this special issue of Nikkei WOMAN on money, the theme of “protection” is featured for the first time.
The words “protect,” “grow,” and “self-investment” are lined up on the cover as well.
“Protect” is listed first!

I suddenly thought.

Rather than feeling like I “wrote” this book,
I feel like I was “allowed to write” it.
